Juan Marichal was the staff ace on six playoff teams, including the Knights 1967 CKL championship team. At the time of his retirement he ranked second in CKL history in innings pitched (3222), strikeouts (1875), games started (454), and shutouts (28). He was third all time in wins with 193 and in complete games with 143. Noted for his pinpoint control, Marichal walked a mere 1.9 batters per nine innings, third best all time. His high leg kick and wide assortment of pitches kept batters guessing. One drawback to his outstanding control was the fact that hitters knew the ball would be close to the plate, and Marichal still holds the CKL career record for home runs allowed with 334.
