HARMON KILLEBREW

“KILLER”

Gamblers  1961 – 1970

Thunder  1971

Angels  1972

Wranglers  1973

One of the Classic Keeper League’s mightiest sluggers over the first dozen years of league existence. Holds nearly every Gamblers career batting record but was best known as a home run hitter. Blasted 50 or more homers three times. Had seven seasons of 100+ RBI. At the time of his retirement he ranked first in walks (1079), second in home runs (442), fifth in RBI (1342) and total bases (3460), sixth in extra base hits (730) and seventh in runs (1138). He didn’t always make contact as he was third in strikeouts (1268), but Harmon was a fan favorite, especially for the prodigious home runs his powerful swing frequently generated. Many of these monumental blasts are still talked about today. In 1967 he led the CKL in on base percentage, slugging, home runs, extra base hits and runs batted in. He was voted Classic Keeper League MVP in 1969.
