Frank Robinson was the Hard Cider’s original draft pick in 1961 and never let the team down in thirteen seasons of play. He was the primary catalyst on a team that never lost the division title during his tenure with them. He was the leading hitter and clubhouse leader on the Hard Cider, the all time winningest team in CKL history up to Frank’s retirement. He was a complete five tool player, batting as high as .344 (1962) for a season, hitting as many as 45 home runs (1961) during a season and stealing as many as 15 bases (1964). He was a fine fielder at both corner outfield positions, playing 975 games in left field and 902 in right field. At the time of his retirement he was ranked among the career leaders in the following categories: RBI (1570) and hit by pitch (143) - 2nd:; extra base hits (908) and runs (1455) – 4th; home runs (411) and hits (2398) – 5th; walks (993) and doubles (425) – 6th. Frank Robinson was a credit to the game and was respected by teammates and opponents alike.
