Dick “Richie” Allen played on eight division winning and two wild card
teams, including three CKL championship teams. He was the key slugger on
several of those teams, retiring with 328 home runs and 1266 RBI. He was Rookie
of the Year in 1964 when he led the league in extra base hits with 91. He also
led the league in RBI with 150 in 1972. Allen was a feared hitter who received
72 intentional walks during his career, good for sixth place on the all time list. He also ranked eighth in extra base hits
with 770 and ninth in both RBI (1266) and doubles (369). Always a free swinger,
Allen also ranks second all time with 1569
strikeouts.
