PITCHING HIGHLIGHTS

Yet another one hitter this week. Roger Moret of the Hard Cider allowed just one hit to the Cloverleafs on May 22nd. Rick Burleson, Cloverleafs shortstop, grounded a scorcher into left field leading off the seventh inning. Neither shortstop Enzo Hernandez nor third baseman Don Money had any chance at the hard hit ball. Moret was far from sharp
as he allowed six walks and went to a full count on six others, but the Burleson single was the only safety the Cloverleafs managed this day against him.

BATTER OF THE WEEK
BOBBY DARWIN
CLOVERLEAFS

Bobby Darwin put together quite a week for the Cloverleafs. Darwin batted .529 (9/17), put up a .579 OBP and slugged 1.118. He drove in ten runs and scored seven helped by his two homers and two triples.
PITCHER OF THE WEEK
KEN HOLTZMAN
SKIPJACKS

A very tough choice among three pitchers this week and Holtzman wins out by virtue of his complete game shutout of the Badgers. But Pat Dobson of the Dust Bunnies and Dave Goltz of the Iron put up virtually identical stats, minus the shutout. All three hurlers posted 2-0 records, all pitched 18 innings with two complete games, and all posted ERAs of 1.00 and WHIPs of 0.94.
